An online learning platform for a training company

How we would take a training business from classrooms and files to courses, live classes, certificates and paid enrolment under its own brand.

A look at how Grocito approaches launching an online learning platform for a training company: the usual challenge, our approach and what to expect.

Challenge

A training company or school that has taught in person wants to reach more learners online. Content lives in slide decks and recordings, enrolment is handled over messages, and there is no reliable way to see who has finished what or to issue a certificate. Selling courses, running live classes and keeping learners engaged all need separate tools, and none of them carry the organisation's own brand.

Our approach

We start from the learner journey: how someone finds a course, pays, learns, gets stuck, finishes and is recognised. Each step shapes the scope.

  • Course builder. Structured courses with video lessons, quizzes and assignments, so instructors can publish without developer help.
  • Live classes. Scheduled sessions alongside recorded lessons, with links and reminders sent to enrolled learners.
  • Progress and analytics. Learners see where they are; instructors and administrators see completion and engagement across a course or cohort.
  • Certificates. Issued automatically when the completion rules the company defines are met.
  • Paid courses and subscriptions. Course purchases and recurring plans using payment providers the company already trusts.
  • White-label branding. The organisation's domain, logo and colours throughout, so learners experience the company's brand rather than ours.
  • Content migration. Moving existing videos, documents and learner lists into the platform, and testing the full journey with a pilot group before launch.

Solution

The platform is built on our Learning Management System (LMS), configured to the company's courses and brand, with extra features developed where the programme calls for them. Instructors work in the course builder, administrators manage enrolment and payments, and learners get a clean dashboard on any device. For organisations in teaching and training, our education and EdTech page shows how this fits the wider picture.

What to expect

A project like this typically aims to widen reach beyond a single location, reduce manual enrolment work and give instructors a clearer picture of how learners are doing. The quality of the courses still determines whether learners stay. Software supports good teaching but does not replace it, and results depend on content, pricing, marketing and learner support.

Technology

  • Next.js and React for the learner and admin interfaces
  • Node.js and TypeScript for the backend
  • PostgreSQL for data storage
  • Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal or Paytm for payments, depending on the market
  • Zoom or Google Meet for live classes
  • Gmail and WhatsApp for reminders and messages
  • Cloudflare for delivery and AWS for storage and video hosting
